I’m an Entrepreneur
I’m an entrepreneur and I love Jesus, so I’m determined to practice my faith in my professional life. I want to be mindful of Who I belong to all day, every day, at home and at work.
It takes little effort to lose sight of doing what’s right when the easy way is…easier.
I’ve not always executed my good intentions very well. In fact, there were several years when I failed miserably. Those good intentions were waylaid by my lack of commitment, so I sometimes took the easy way out and made some quick decisions that weren’t always the best decisions. I let myself rationalize that what I wanted was what God wanted for me.
Yeah, that worked about as well as you can imagine. Age has its benefits, one of which is many opportunities to see what all didn’t work as well as I’d hoped.
If you’re an entrepreneur, please learn from my mistakes. Listen to wise counsel regarding money and employees. Figure out what your gifts are and outsource the other responsibilities. Remember, the sign on Harry Truman’s desk read, “The buck stops here.” Be decisive. Lead.
Of course, there’s more to building a successful business, but these provide a solid start. It seems that a new year gives us an excuse to rethink all the possibilities and to get out a fresh page on which to write our destiny.
Write on, folks!
